GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES –

The candidate must be able to work rotating 12-hour shifts (include days, nights, weekends and holidays)
Proficient in data entry including Microsoft Products
The ability to work long hours during disasters and evacuations
The ability to sit for extended periods of times
The ability to assess emergency situations and may provide preliminary advice and guidance
The ability to work with the public and private sector through the metro 911 system and private emergency phone calls
The ability to dispatch emergency personnel to scenes as well as provide directions to the emergency scenes all over {city}

ALL ENTRY LEVEL POSITIONS HAVE EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS: All applicants for these positions have an exam requirement. Currently, applicants for this posting who do not yet have an exam score are being invited to take the exam. Examining will continue until capacity has been reached.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must be physically able to efficiently perform the duties of this position, which require strenuous exertion involving prolonged standing, walking, bending and reaching, and may include handling heavy containers of mail weighing up to the allowable maximum mailing weight.
